John Flamsteed Community School

Whilst every effort will be made to operate normally during severe weather, information about the school being closed will be posted on our web site (www.jfcs.org.uk).  Whilst it is not always easy to make an early decision we will attempt to have a definitive open or closed statement on the web site by 7.30 am. In addition information will be given to RAM FM, Radio Derby and Amber Sound. On such days it would be helpful if parents listen for information from these radio stations rather than ‘jamming’ the school’s switchboard with individual requests for information.

If for any reason the school has to be closed earlier than usual, students will only be allowed to go home if they can assure their form teacher that they have access to home, or to a house of a relative or friend. Other students will be supervised in school by staff until the normal finishing time or until parents have been contacted and other arrangements have been made.
