Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium – The JF Way

At John Flamsteed Community School, we are committed to ensuring that every child has the right to a high quality broad and balanced education, regardless of their background. Our vision is for all of our pupils, including disadvantaged pupils to be #nothingshortofremarkable. We have high expectations for our students to be the most ambitious and committed version of themselves. We aspire for our disadvantaged students to be proud to achieve in line with other students nationally. We aim to achieve this by focusing relentlessly on four main strands:
  1. Priority Agenda: we will ensure all staff know who their disadvantaged pupils are, what barriers they face, how to overcome these and maintain a sharp focus on positive discrimination and progress monitoring.
  1. Wider Strategies (attendance, behaviour, wellbeing & communication with parents): we will ensure there is support for the whole child and obstacles to progress are removed.

  1. Data Analysis, Robust Tracking and Targeted Academic Support: we will ensure that data is robustly analysed and acted on to accelerate the progress of disadvantaged students.

  1. Teaching and Learning: we will ensure the quality of teaching, learning and feedback is high so that disadvantaged pupils have the best chance of success.
